De krant doelt daarmee op massatoerisme en de invloed van reizen op klimaatverandering. Thierry van Vugt, wethouder van onder meer stadsmarketing en toerisme in Gouda, is enthousiast. &#8220;Gouda heeft heel wat te bieden.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-welingelichtekringen_ros_inarticle\"><\/div>\n<p>The New York Times is te spreken over hoe Nederland toeristen aanmoedigt verder te kijken dan alleen Amsterdam. Gouda is daarvan &#8220;een charmant voorbeeld&#8221;. De krant spreekt van een &#8220;kleine, historische stad&#8221;, bekend om de Goudse kaas. De stad leent zich volgens de krant ideaal voor een autovrij bezoek. Dit dankzij de laadpalen voor elektrische fietsen en de goed gemarkeerde fietsroutes. Wat reizigers echt moeten ervaren als ze naar Gouda gaan? Dat is de Gouda Cheese Experience, &#8220;voor een proeverij van ambachtelijke oude kazen&#8221;, aldus de krant.<\/p>\n<p>Volgens Vugt is het &#8220;mooi om te zien dat Gouda ook internationaal op de kaart staat en de rijke culturele historie van de stad wordt gezien&#8221;.
